In order to preserve the Columns, the University treated the columns to protect them from weather. During the summer of 1938, the Columns were also stripped of their ivy because it damaged the stone.

Much construction occurred in 1998, revitalizing Jesse's look. The dome was repainted and remodeled, and extra exterior repairs were made. This part of Jesse can be seen almost anywhere around campus.

This is a view taken from inside of Jesse Dome. During Engineers' Week, usually held in the middle of March, the dome is lit green to honor St. Patrick, the patron saint of engineering.

Resembling a dungeon, this photograph unveils a part of the library tucked away from the general study rooms--the study cells in the West stacks of the library. Though intimidating, these carrels were very popular among students to focus on work while having access to many of the materials they might need. Ph.D. students could rent out these carrels to have a "temporary residence" in the library.
