Two faculty members are selected each year for this award, after being nominated by their undergraduates and reviewed by a committee of prior Mentor Awardees. Five faculty were considered by the committee this year including honorable mention Dr. David Braun (Biological Sciences) and the awardees listed below: Dr. Mili Kuruvilla-Dugdale (Assistant Professor, Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, School of Health Professions), Dr. Antoinette Landor (Assistant Professor, Human Development and Family Science, College of Human Environmental Sciences).

"Congratulations to the fourteen students selected to represent MU at the UM System Undergraduate Research Day at the State Capitol! This annual event was scheduled for Thursday, April 2, 2020; however, was cancelled due to the pandemic. Students applied early in the fall semester and then attended a series of workshops and meetings to prepare for this annual event. A list of projects appears below, along with the student names, hometowns, majors, and faculty mentors."

Projects are typically shared in a 'display' format; however, with the transition to online presentations many students are also choosing to include video presentations for the digital forums. The Forum is not only for STEM students, students in art, humanities and the social sciences are not only invited, they are encouraged to present their projects and scholarly activities."
